SPECIAL AI BAG INVENTED FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED BY AN INDIAN

SPECIAL AI BAG INVENTED BY AN INDIAN

Commonly visually disabled people will mostly depend on walking sticks, Guide dogs and some other tech gadgets and tools are alos available but they will not be an complete solution.

Now, a new solution has be invented with Intel's Artificial Intelligence (AI) software processor and concealed cameras to recognize hurdles and transcribe the traffic and road signals in real-time.

This Techonology has been developed by Jagadish K Mahendran, A computer vision engineer from the University of Georgia.

This backpack consists of an vest with cameras, Bluetooth earpices, GPS locator in the backpack itself and a funny back. The funny back has the battery capacity of holding it around eight years.

It is said that this system can able to recoginze moving objects, obstacles and road signs

Special AI cameras are placed in the vest or the funny pack, there are tottaly three tiny holes to help cameras look the surroundings at real time. Mahendran explained that the spatial camera's depth data combined with the visual data which allows traacking of moving object, elevations changes and hanging obstacles.

Addition to that the Inter molidius enables the system to recognize objects, staircases, road signs and crosswalks.

These recognized Information's are taken to the wearer by an Bluetooth earpiece. The wearer can also able to interact with the system through voice commands.

But, when the project demonstrated live, it is long way from a market ready product. The prototype features multiple components that can't be operated easily by the visually impaired.
