WHY MYNTRA CHANGED ITS LOGO ?
Fashion clothing e-commerce website Myntra has now changed its official logo after a women in mumbai filed a complaint claiming that it resembles like vagina and stated that it is " offensive and derogatory to women"
The complaint was filed by Naaz Patel, an activist and the founder of an NGO called Avesta foundation. she filed the complaint in last year december at the Mumbai police station
Patel claims that the official Logo of Myntra resembles an image of an naked human which is offensive in nature for women
DCP Rashmi Karandikar of mumbai police's cyber crime said that " A complainant (woman) had apporached the cyber crime police station in the matter. we called a meeting with Myntra following the complaint, they (Myntra) came and agreed to change the logo. They have sent an email as well on the same"
Avesta foundation thanked myntra for addressing the concerns " and respecting the sentiments of million" it also thanked people for thier supprot " congratulations to our founder.She did it what seemed impossible. thankyou everyone for your support. We are overwhelmed by the response. kudos to @myntra for addressing the concerns and respecting the sentiments of women " the foundation tweeted
